Sihanoukville (nicknamed “Snooky”) is a southwestern state known because of its natural beauty. Sadly, the town of the exact same name – especially Serendipty Beach – has brought the wrong type of tourism: intoxicated and partyers backpackers that bring the wrong component. Beach and the town are not quite clean and the shore is dangerous at night.
But do’t stress – just 15 minutes beyond town, the laid back beach communities of Otres II and Otres I are much more satisfying for couple or a family .
Minimal time to stay:
You’ll likely need for the complete excursion so you’re not running if you’re going to reach the isles.
In Sihanoukville, I adore an excellent vibe, a resort with an excellent restaurant, pool, pleasant rooms and The Reef.
Ensure that you reserve your lodgings on Koh Rong Sanloem in advance or Koh Rong. Bring your own sunscreen, insect repellant, if you want them and seasickness meds.
There are lots of vans and buses to and from every part of Cambodia, and Sihanoukville has an unique airport for flights that are suitable to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap.
While Koh Rong Sanloem is much more mellow and silent for nature fans, Koh Rong brings many of the exact same partying backpackers as Serendipty Beach. It is possible to rent a boat and explore some great isles with a day trip if you do’t have time for the full isle overnight stay.
